The SKHCS Hospital will be one of its milestone initiatives in Shahdadkot City of Sindh Pakistan. It will provide free of cost, quality healthcare, a state-of-the-art tertiary healthcare facility to serve the needy and under-privileged people. It will be a non-commercial hospital, governed by the Indus Education Foundation and run under the supervision of health practitioners appointed by IEF. IEF is created to manage several Schools and hospitals and numerous outreach programs.

At the beginning, SKHCS will solely rely on the generous support of donors to help deliver services to people with meagre resources. Later, IEF will be reaching out to the less-privileged people across the country.

SKHCS HOSPITAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Location

Initiated by a group Ali Mumtaz Langah along with a group of professionals with the support of some philanthropists, SKHCS Hospital’s foundation stone was laid down on June 7 , 2019 with a purpose to provide indiscriminate, quality healthcare to all in a state-of-the-art, paperless, 100-bed hospital located between Sindh Baluchistan province, a remote are as well as one of the most under-served area in the entire Country– Shahdadkot.

Shahdadkot is the most populated (approx. 450,000 people) and largest town of Qambar Shahdadkot District of Sindh, Pakistan. It is located around 44 kilometres northwest of Larkana and 32 kilometers north of Qambar. It is situated near Sindh-Baluchistan border and the town is in close proximity to three districts of Balochistan namely Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and Jaffarabad in the west and north of the district.

Project Development

Project shall be developed gradually step by step through the following phases:

– Phase 1 – Free OPD Services

Initially shall be run by the volunteer Doctors – ( Note: real humans with golden heart- who intend to give back to their community, their city and ultimately their own people ) – real success & sustainable success would be with the involvement of locals

⁃ Phase II Free Pathology/ Lab services

It is a key to provide free pathology and lab services to the most underprivileged segment of society to understand their health conditions in terms of diagnosis and needs.

⁃ Phase III Free Admission / Indoor Service (general wards & family rooms).

Many people specially coming from the remote villages and smaller communities can not afford indoor services. Hence this will be a great addition to help to accommodate the patients who require longer treatments.

⁃ Specialized Departments: in the partnership with the NICVD, SUIT, TDC

Through the collaborative approach with well reputed and respected institutes such as NICVD, SUIT and TDC , specialized departments shall be established and services shall be offered to residents locally to meet the need of patients with special health conditions.

⁃ Phase IV Nursing residence

Details under review and shall be released after the completion of phase III.

⁃ Phase V Doctors residence

⁃ Phase VI Utility Services: Mosque, Parks & playground, School etc.

⁃ Phase VII Training & Nursing college

Details under review and shall be released after the completion of phase VI.

⁃ Phase VIII Medical School / University

Details under review and shall be released after the completion of phase VII.

Project Cost

Land: Project land fully donated by Ali Mumtaz Langah. Note: Currently 8 Acres of prime land in the Heart of City has been allocated (approx. cost: Half million US Dollars/ or in Pak Rupees: 12 crores/ one acres = 1.5 crores).

Building Cost: The cost of the hospital building shall be generated through the donations, national/ international organisations, and fund-raising events (local and international). Initially, a building cost approx.: one million UD Dollars will be needed, and it will be generated a period of 3 to 5 years.  Note: After the completing of Phase I, funds shall be raised to complete the construction of remaining phases.

Operation and Management:

Team of Volunteers and paid employees. It will be a non-commercial hospital, governed by the Indus Education Foundation and run under the supervision of health practitioners appointed by IEF.

ABOUT INDUS EDUCATION FOUNDATION (IEF) INTERNATIONAL, UK

Indus Education Foundation was found in 2006 with early the idea to increase the literacy rate in Sindh province of Pakistan however during the last 14 years. It has raised about 5000 enrolments in Matiari district of Sindh.

It has recently established its unit in the United Kingdom to raise funds for out of school children in Asia, Europe and Africa but especially for Pakistan’s Sindh province. This unit is new but has long planning to have a memorandum of understanding with different countries and their development sector.

Presently IEF is establishing a project of 100 schools in Sindh province in coordination with Qatar Foundation, Sindh Government and Sindh Doctors Association, UK. By implementing this project, IEF will enrol 30,000 children in three years. These schools are looked after by three different organisations named as Sindh Development Association, Green Tree organisation and IEF Sindh. These schools will be opened and mobilised in Matiari, Sanghar and Badin districts.

IEF is mobilising the communities of the world to think about educating our next generation so that they can save this world from poverty, terrorism and illiteracy.
